Artist's Comments

Soon it's my older sister's 26th birthday.
She has often asked me to copy for her this incredible painting by C.D. Friedrich, but I've always felt unable to do such a thing. This year I've decided to try again and it seems like I've somehow managed to paint something similar to the original one. I've had to use temperas, since I'm still unable to do oil paintings. I like the outfit, I must say.

By the way, when I've shown it to my mother, she just said: "Oh, this makes me wish to die. It's lugubrious".
Why people keep on ignoring the meaning of a certain thing called ROMANTICISM? Or SUBLIME? I've no words.

It's beautiful. It looks enough like the original to recognize it and at the same time it has some of your style in it.

Anch'io adoro questo quadro. Lugubre? Mostrale un libro su Friedrich, questo è uno dei più allegri ^^ Complimenti cmq :)

I never delete something from my gallery. But I do move things to Scraps, so if you have time to take a look here, too... [link]
